Roadmap of the Services provided by Australia's Leading Home Care Agency
IHC Childcare Educators
For the delivery of the government subsidised In Home Care Program to:
- Families who live in rural or remote areas
- Parents who work non-standard hours
- Families with challenging or complex needs, or who are facing challenging situations
Requirements for all IHC Educator roles include:
- Be at least 18 years’ old
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have a relevant visa to allow employment on a continuous basis for 12 months or more
- Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education qualification or equivalent OR be enrolled and working towards. You may also hold a Primary teaching degree, as long as you are registered with the teacher authority board of your relevant state or territory
- Educators working remote are not required to hold the above
- Three references relating to child care
- Police Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate (includes CPR) – course code HLTAID011 or HLTAID012
- Employee Working with Children Check or Blue Card
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate
- Own car and license
- Letter from your doctor stating you are fit and healthy to work in the relevant field (if relevant)
- 12-month commitment to work with the agency
- Active PRODA account
- Hold Public Liability Insurance (this is covered by the Agency)
Private Carers

Requirements for all Carer roles include:
- Be at least 18 years’ old
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have a relevant visa to allow employment on a continuous basis for 12 months or more
- Three references relating to child care
- Police Check (completed within the last 12 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate (includes CPR) – course code HLTAID011 or HLTAID012
- Employee Working with Children Check or Blue Card
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate
- Own car and license
- Letter from your doctor stating you are fit and healthy to work in the relevant field (if relevant)
- 12-month commitment to work with the agency
- Hold Public Liability Insurance
All IHC Educators and Carers must also be prepared to complete:
- An application form
- Attend a preliminary phone screening interview
- Attend a secondary behavioural interview
- Relevant training modules
- An induction
